The Troops

Troop 283 – Rough Riders

Named after a volunteer cavalry regiment led famously by Theodore Roosevelt, who was in turn dedicated to exploration and the outdoors. He drastically expanded and renovated the US National Park Service, doubling the national park count and creating national monuments, as well as setting aside over 200 million acres of land to be protected. This troop aims to explore and embrace the beautiful outdoors that were set aside by their namesake regiments famous leader.

Troop 3283 – Trailblazers

Trailblazer – The first person to do something or go somewhere, who shows that it is also possible for other people.

Goals Of Scouting

The goal of scouting is to instill a sense of the outdoors and to prepare involved people for life. The scout motto is “Be Prepared” and the goal of scouts is to ensure that those involved are prepared for whatever life throws at them through instilling them with the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law
